Well, after all the -

- unpleasantness, and since I just caught one of our newcomers trying to crack the engine room door, I figured we should possibly improve security somewhat. Florian's doing some magic that'll teleport out anyone who isn't authorized, even if they managed to steal a key. But what if I'm in a coma and the barge needs some fixing up?

So I thought maybe you'd like to be deputized as a back-up. Just in case.

[It can't be overstated how much Eiffel's eyes light up at the offer. It's not like he's going to do anything in there again but he'd always had a special soft spot for the Barge, and being in her engine always felt weirdly intimate.

But then he catches himself, and looks a little anxious instead.]

He didn't take my key when I let you in before, so I guess he's trusting my judgement. And if it comes to that, I don't think he'll be in much position to complain.

[Jedao makes a noise that's half laugh, half growl, and gives Eiffel a proper kiss.]

I didn't pick you so I could bend you over the pinball machine, but I am going to do that.

Florian's going to need something to key the spell with, for you - I assume a little hair would be more comfortable than a blood sample.
