You know, I've never actually finished that game? The rules are so stupid.

[But there's a faint clatter in the background as he searches one-handed through his DVD crate.]

[Shaw is not the type to like leaving her door unlocked for long periods of time - call it a New York City habit - but after she clicks off the walkie, she gets up and undoes all the deadbolts before flopping back down onto the couch.]

I love Clue.

[ Root slides her arms around Shaw once she is back on the couch, less because she wants to (though she really does want to) and more because Eiffel expects it, and she wants to both annoy him and prove him right.

And for the record, she's wearing sweats and one of Shaw's hoodies. ]

Why do you think I picked it.

[Shaw mumbles - poking her in the side, but then leaning heavily against her. Internally warring against exhaustion and stir-craziness is... well. Exhausting, and also inclined to make her stir-crazy. But she also clearly hasn't been out yet today: her hair is slightly damp from a shower, so she's at least been up, but she's barefoot in sweats and a tank top.]

And there's a conveniently-timed knock on the door then, before Eiffel lets himself in, covering his eyes with the Clue DVD case. "If you guys didn't put a tie on the door just to screw with me, fair warning that I do think it's hot!"

He's wearing denim jeans that are so old they've rolled back around to basically being sweats, and his good old Star Wars shirt, but he lowers it to give them a wry grin as he closes the door.

"Hey, ladies."

"I have my gun on me," says Shaw, without making any move to sit up. "I will kill you."

(At least the first part of this is true. Even while wearing sweatpants in her own cabin, she has an ankle holster on.)

"She won't." Root grins at him. "Sorry to disappoint you, but we're not really in the mood to give anyone a show."

"You wouldn't kill me." With the smug satisfaction of knowing, literally, she was forced to try and failed. "Who else is gonna give you those primo signature Doug Eiffel back crackers?"

He'll move as he's talking, setting the DVD up in the player before he goes and flops onto Shaw's other side, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

Shaw cranes her neck around to shoot Root a look that is very much meant to be read as Do you see this bullshit I have to deal with?, though it's colored by the fact that she's sure Root is just going to grin smugly at her. And then Eiffel has the audacity to sit down right next to her, out of prime kicking range? Extremely rude. She makes no attempt to shove them off or extricate either of their octopus arms, but she wiggles around a little, fussily, to try to get herself into a more comfortable position within them.

(This is how you can tell that she loves you so much, guys.)

Shaw is correct. Root gives her a smug grin and leans in to nuzzle her cheek.

"Comfy?" she asks Shaw. And to Eiffel, "I promise not to kiss your hand by accident.
